Inspired by Marshall Goldsmith

Just back from the USA where I was participating in a training workshop run by Marshall Goldsmith, named as one of the the USA's top 5 Executive Coaches and one of the 50 great thinkers and business leaders to have impacted the field of management over the past 80 years.

He was great; authentic, down to earth, and with a fantastic sense of humour.  His anecdotes from his years of work as an executive coach were fascinating, and reminded me of how the behaviours that can get in the way of achieving excellent performance for CEOs of top corporates, are just the same types of things that stop entrepreneurs too!  His latest book, What got you here won't get you there describes the twenty habits that hold you back and all of them are simple to change, the difficulty is that they are NOT EASY to change!

One of his suggestions is peer coaching, where you pair up with colleague and solicit ideas from them on how you can change using his feedforward method, and then regularly follow up.  You can find out more at his website and download a great article about this.
